Who you are dealing with
Stone & Willow is Sam Bullen. The person who quotes your garden is the person who builds it, and stays until it is finished.
We took the name from the two things most of our work comes down to. Stone, for the structure that holds a garden together. Willow, for what grows once it does.

An old flagstone patio and overgrown borders taken out, then a rendered curved bench with a timber seat, brick raised beds, riven stone paving and new close-board fencing, planted up.

What we do
Most of our work is small London gardens where space is tight and access is tighter. We plan around both, so the build runs cleanly and the finished garden is one you can keep on top of.

Questions
It depends almost entirely on the hard landscaping, because that is where the materials and the labour go. A patio and some planting is a very different job to relevelling a whole garden. Every quote comes to you in writing, and we will break it down if you ask, so you can see where the money is going and take parts out if the number comes back higher than you hoped.
No. The visit and the written quote are free, and there is no obligation attached to either.
We cover Richmond-upon-Thames, Putney, Wandsworth, Twickenham, Earl’s Court and the areas around them, and go out into Surrey as well. If you want us, we will be there.
Public liability cover is being arranged now and will be in place before any work starts. Once it is, the insurer and policy details will be shown at the bottom of this website and on every quote we send.
A clearance is usually a day or two. A patio, around a week. A full garden rebuild, three to four weeks depending on access and the weather. You get a start date and a finish date in writing before we begin.
Most London gardens are reached through the house or a narrow side return, and we plan for that. Floor protection goes down, the site gets tidied at the end of each day, and all waste leaves with us.
